Q+T Steels

Carbon content of these steels are above 0,25%. They can be grouped as carbon, low and high alloy steels. These steels may contain Sulphur in order to improve machinability.

Typical steel grades include SAE 1045, SAE 1060, 41Cr4, 42CrMo4 (4140), 30CrNiMo8, 34CrNiMo6.

Case Hardening Steels

Low carbon steels which are suitable for case hardening. Due to their low carbon content, after case hardening, their surface is resistant to abrasion and the center is resistant to high impact loads.

Typical steel grades include C10E, 16MnCr5, 20MnCr5, 18CrNiMo7-6, 8620H. Machineability can be enhanced by addition of Sulphur.

Bearing Steels

High carbon and high wear resistance steels which are produced with special production methods. The most well-known steel in this group is 100Cr6.

Boron Steels

Steels that contain 0.0005 – 0.0050% of boron with low carbon equivalent. They have high hardenability properties. After quench and tempering, they receive high wear resistance due to increased hardness and toughness.

Plastic Mold Steels

High alloy steels which are suitable for quench and tempering.

Typical steel grades include 1.2738 (40CrMnNiMo8-6-4), 1.2312 (40CrMnMoS8-6).

Resulfurized Steels

Steels that have good machining capability due to addition of Sulphur. Tool life is increased while machining these steels due to high swarf fragility.

Typical steel grades include 11SMn30, SAE 1117, 35S20.

Rail Steels

High carbon, abrasion resistant steels.

Typical steel grades include R260, Gr.880, Gr. 1100, R320Cr.

Spring Steels

Used in spring manufacturing due to its high elasticity after quench and tempering.

Typical steel grades include 55Cr3, 56Si7, 51CrV4, 60SiMn5.

Micro Alloyed Steels

Steels that have high strength, toughness and good machinability due to Sulphur content.

The main steel type in this group is 38MnVS6.

Shipbuilding and Offshore Steels

These steels can be categorized in two types;

Low strength and high strength steels.

These steels include; Gr A, Gr B, Gr D, Gr E , AH/DH 32, AH/DH 36, EH 32/36, AH/DH 40, GOST A 40S, GOST A 40D, S355 G1+N/+M, S 355 G4+N/+M, S 355 G11+N/+M, S355 G12+N/+M, S420 G3+M, S420 G4+M, S 460G3+M, S 460G4+M, S355NL, S355ML.

High Temperature and Pressure Vessel Steels

High pressure resistant steels that can be used above 100°C.

Typical steel grades include C22.8, P235GH, P265GH, P295GH, P355GH, P355NH/QH/, P420 NH/QH, P460 NH/QH, 16Mo3, 13CrMo4-5, 11CrMo9-10.

Cathode Bars

They contain less than 0.08% carbon and have high electrical conductivity.

Structural Steels

These are general construction steels with low or high tensile strength. Delivery conditions are as rolled, thermomechanical rolling or normalizing rolling.

Typical steel grades include S235 JR/J0/J2, S275 JR/J0/J2, S355 JR/J0/J2, S420 N/M, S460 N/M.
